Here's a question. When was the last time you saw Deepika Padukone and Sidhartha Mallya make an appearance together? It is alright if you can't remember, because they have actually not stepped out for nearly three months.

It's been a while since the star and her billionaire boyfriend kissed in a stadium or made a 'couple entry' at Arpita Khan's party. It has also been a while since they were spotted at a private dinner at a mid-town restaurant. Jog your memory some more, and you will also recall the two making an appearance at a party, where Deepika's former flame seemed to get along famously with Sidhartha.

We saw the happy pictures. We read about the so-called bonhomie and the pleasantries exchanged and we wanted to believe that the couple have matured. What the pictures did not tell us was the true story of simmering tension between Deepika and Sidhartha.

What was so far in the realm of speculation, gained credence when Sidhartha was conspicuous by his absence at Deepika's apartment on his birthday earlier this month. Significantly, when Mallya Junior ushered in the New Year with a big bash, Deepika was not by his side either. For a couple so visible in each other's company and apparently endorsed by their mutual families, this was rather strange indeed.

A source closed to the star, spilled the beans on the strained relationship. "Since August 2010, they have made several appearances together. But if you recall, they have been strangely cold and aloof while talking about their relationship. But all of us wanted to believe that they were headed for something stronger when Sidhartha dined with Deepika's family."

Deepika Padukone Is Set To Explore Exotic Vacations

Deepika Padukone, who is making her comeback with her ex-boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor, is reportedly set for a 25 day exotic tour, but not with Ranbir! The buzz in the tinsel town is that the Bollywood star has planned to spend annual vacation with none other than airline and liquor magnate Sidhartha Mallya.

It is reported that Deepika Padukone has already booked tickets for her holiday tour with steady date Sidhartha Mallya. Dips-Sid's 25-day vacation starts from December 11, 2011 and the duo is said to be visiting Saint Tropez and a few other exotic locations till January 2, 2012.

However, Deepika Padukone has recently signed a dotted line to star opposite Ranbir Kapoor in the Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. Sources claim that she will do a look test for Karan Johar's next movie on December 10. “The next day, Dips and Sid will fly off for their annual getaway to Saint Tropez and a few other exotic locations around the world,” the Times of India quotes a source as saying.

DP and Sid have still not admitted that they are seeing each other, though they are spotted together at nearly every party. But this intimate gesture, that everyone could see at the match, seems to indicate that they're becoming more open about the relationship.

For her 25th birthday today, Deepika Padukone has gone back to her roots. Literally! The actress, TOI learned, is celebrating the day at Copenhagen — the city she was born in.

She was just 11 months old when the Padukones returned to Bangalore. And Deepika, enthused by nostalgia for the historic European city, has returned there to trace her roots.

A friend revealed, "Deepika wants to visit the hospital where she was born, the house where her parents stayed, and also bond with old family friends still living in the Danish city. Her parents have fond memories of Copenhagen and Deepika wants them to relive these with her. So, Papa Prakash Padukone will be her guide on this tour."

Earlier, the Padukones celebrated Christmas in London. Sidhartha Mallya, who is supposedly seeing Deepika, joined them for New Year in the English capital. And he is likely to be with her in Copenhagen as well, today. Which is as romantic a birthday gift the young liquor baron could give the sexy actress as is possible. Deepika returns to Mumbai on Friday to attend the Imran Khan-Avantika Malik wedding over the weekend.
